The Oscar-winning Jared Leto, will be playing the Joker in Suicide Squad, next movie by David Ayer coming soon in 2016. Confirmed actors are Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller).
Jared Leto showed his new Platinum-Blond look, first step to prepare his hair for Joker’s characteristic green-like color. The Joker is very much appreciated by the audience. He’s placed in the top 50 list of best bad guys played in history of cinema and one of the best loved character of all time in history of comics.
What will be Jared Leto’s approach for the Suicide Squad Version? Will he try to give his personal touch or will be more faithful to comic book characters? Until now no Joker was the same as the previous one. Jack Nicholson in Batman by ”Tim was more trusty to the comic while giving vent to his fantastic acting skills-change, as well as the darker and murky Joker of The Dark Knight starring Heath Ledger, which won the Oscar posthumously for his unforgettable performance.
Here are 5 possible Joker that we’d like to see.
From Batman: Death of the Family, this faceless Joker is surely one of the most violent and gruesome character ever seen. This one, not only is decidedly unsettling, but compared to the classic Joker, he engages a war against Batman himself, instead lash out against innocent people.
He’s Joker of Batman: Arkham Asylym videogame, and would be most appreciated by fans of this great saga started by Rocksteady Studios in 2009. This Joker, having many characteristics of the classic Joker we used to know, is more ordinary but has a similar physiognomy as Jared Leto. Also it could be used as a pretext to release a spin-off videogame based on the movie.
The highly anticipated movie by Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is inspired by this comic book, but Joker’s character will not be present in this one. Maybe might be a good idea to draw this ambiguous Joker, muscular but effeminate. Don’t forget that Jared Leto has a good experience in this kind of characters as seen in Dallas Buyers Club, where he masterfully played the role of an homosexual. This could be a captivating interpretation which clearly differs from other Joker we’ve seen in the past.
One of the most debated Joker by fans is the Endgame one. It has raised some interesting questions about the past of the character, in particular about the fact that he may be an immortal that haunts Gotham for centuries and centuries. This Joker is skinny, perverse, with a very short punk haircut and small green bloodshot eyes. It would be also different from usual and perfect for an actor like Jared Leto.
Placed in an amusement park similar to the one in Batman: Arkham City, but with all physical characteristics of Joker in the game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, this is the one who Christopher Nolan says he was inspired for shooting The Dark Knight.
Would be really interesting to see him in action but following more closely the plot of the comic book, which through a long flashback, reveals interesting and surprising details about his past as failed stand-up comedian, and his wife Jeannie, before he became one the most popular villains ever.
